Since the first printing of the One Dollar Federal Reserve Note in 1963, there have been 15 printing series issued containing the new number. Anne Bancroft, (pictured above with husband Mel Brooks), best known for her performance as the seductive Mrs. Robinson in "The Graduate," died at the age of 73. Bancroft's sucessfull career included 5 Academy Award nominations which she received an Oscar for "Best Actress" in her 1962 performance as the poor-sighted Annie Sullivan, the teacher of the deaf and blind Hellen Keller. Bancroft was also awarded a Tony for the same role in the Broadway presentation. |
