Anne Bancroft Memorial Note Announced

Anne Bancroft 1906 - 2005
  WhatsGeorgeWorth.com in association with the NACCC, (National Association for Collectors of Common Currencies) celebrates the life of the late Anne Bancroft with the induction of the Anne Bancroft Memorial Note.

U.S. One Dollar Bills containing the serial numbers A19312005B will for ever more be officially recognized as Anne Bancroft Memorial Notes.

Since the first printing of the One Dollar Federal Reserve Note in 1963, there have been 15 printing series issued containing the new number. A Collectable value of $2.50 is currently being offered for each of the 15 new memorial notes.

Anne Bancroft, (pictured above with husband Mel Brooks), best known for her performance as the seductive Mrs. Robinson in "The Graduate," died at the age of 73.

Bancroft's sucessfull career included 5 Academy Award nominations which she received an Oscar for "Best Actress" in her 1962 performance as the poor-sighted Annie Sullivan, the teacher of the deaf and blind Hellen Keller. Bancroft was also awarded a Tony for the same role in the Broadway presentation.
