The R & B industry suffered a huge loss with the passing of one of its most celebrated balladeers, Luther Vandross, on Friday.
Vandross had stopped making public appearances in 2003 when he suffered a stroke, but amazingly managed to continue his recording career. In 2004, he captured four Grammys as a sentimental favorite, including best song for the bittersweet Dance With My Father.
Vandross, whose deep, lush voice on hits such as Here and Now and Any Love provided the romantic backdrop for millions of couples, died at the age of 54.
